Riverscape Apartments: Energy Consolidation Initiative

Your Body Corporate has appointed Flow Systems Pty Ltd (Flow), as fully licenced electricity retailer, to seek your consent to reconfigure Riverscapes incoming electricity. Doing so will allow Riverscape to receive lower electricity delivery charges from Energex.

Our Tariffs

Our analysis shows that residents at Riverscape would be paying, like for like, 35.2% less per annum on electricity than the Australian Federal Governments reasonable determination of per-customer annual energy cost. The analysis is based on the Australian Energy Regulator’s per-customer consumption of 4.6MWh over a period of 365 days, otherwise known as the “Residential Annual Usage without Controlled Load (kWh/yr)”.

Important Information

Furthermore, your freedom to choose a retailer of your own is paramount. Providing your consent does not mean you must buy electricity from Flow. In fact:

  • You have the right to buy electricity from a retailer of your own choice, even within an embedded network;

  • You have the ability to enter an energy only contract with an authorised electricity retailer;

  • If you do not consent to becoming part of the embedded network but community approves the conversion, we will facilitate the continuation of your electricity contract with your current retailer or, at your request, match any genuine electricity offer that would be available to you if you were still directly connected to the local distribution network service provider; and

  • We will fulfil any subsequent request by you to match an electricity offer if the request is made 12 months or more after a previous request.

We cannot offer to sell electricity to you until after the network has been approved and converted. We have however provided you with a copy of our standard retailers terms and conditions so that you are aware of the offer we will make at a later date.

We require your explicit and informed consent to proceed. By provided your explicit and informed consent you acknowledge that the Important Information above has been disclosed to you and that you wish to provide consent. If you do not wish to provide consent you can:

  1. Not respond, or

  2. Respond declining your consent

If you do not provide consent, we would be grateful if you could let us know why so we can do better next time.You can find out more about an embedded energy network (sometimes called an EEN or private network) here, read our FAQ or sign the consent form so we can build the state-of-the-art embedded energy network inside your stunning complex.

What is an embedded energy network and how does it work?

An embedded energy network (also called an ‘embedded network’):

  • is a private electricity network delivering energy to residents and common areas in a building, complex or precinct.

  • includes a parent or gate meter installed to connect the building’s embedded network to the grid.

  • includes infrastructure such as switchboards, cabling, control systems, individual apartment and common property meters and telemetry.

  • enables the purchasing power of individual residents to be combined throughout the building by leveraging the volume of electricity used to be purchased in bulk for the whole building allowing discounts for their electricity.

What services will be offered at Riverscape Apartments?

  • a network service, and

  • a retail electricity supply service within the building.

Both services will be provided to all occupants. Your home electricity bill is made up of two components regardless of which company you choose as your supplier:

  • A usage charge which is variable as it depends on the amount of electricity you use at home (expressed per unit of electricity consumed (kilowatt hour / kWh).

  • A Daily Service Charge, which is a flat daily charge and applied per meter per day (for usage of the network, associated wiring and meters (expressed as a cents per day at charge).

Will I be able to claim concessions on my bill?

You may be entitled to concessions on your energy bill if you hold a Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care or Gold Card.

If you would like to apply for an energy concession once the embedded network is up and running, please contact us at hi@flowsystems.com.au and we will help you contact the relevant government department.

Do I need to pay to become a customer?

We don’t charge any joining fees, although you may be charged a fee if you elect to change your meter or we disconnect/reconnect your power. Don’t worry, we will always tell you about a fee that needs to be paid before you commit.

What if I am already on a contract with my current energy retailer?

Flow Systems, on behalf your owners corporation, will reimburse your termination fees up to the value of $100 if you provide us with evidence that you have paid the termination fee to your previous retailer and terminated your contract (receipt). Flow Systems may reimburse you via a credit on your first electricity bill from us.
